About the Organisation

We are seeking an experienced Director of Strategy, Stakeholder Engagement & Government Affairs for global NGO focused Impact Investing, the is to be based out of Shanghai and is only open to local Chinese citizens. This role will play a key role as part of the leadership team driving growth across Greater China (Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the mainland) you will help balance the big-picture vision for the organisation in China, alongside the region APAC leadership team. A key dynamic to this role will be to establish relations with key government and local stakeholders and as well as developing and driving the regional communications plans.

Responsibilities & Key Requirements

• Experience: At least 10+ years of experience in managing NGO or non-for-profit organizations in China
• Experience in leading, communications, or public relations, with a minimum of three years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Ability to identify impact investment partners and projects
• Thorough understanding of the governments requirements and concerns for foriegn NGO’s operating in mainland China and carefully navigating through the “red-tape”
• Understanding of how to navigate the organisations goals in a regulated or sensitive environment
• Leadership Skills: A confident, empathetic leader who can inspire teams, adapt to different working styles, and foster collaboration and accountability.
• Creative Passion: A commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality work that resonates with clients and audiences alike.
• Communication Strength: Polished communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and confidently represent the organisation in key meetings.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, oversee budgets, and deliver against tight deadlines with efficiency and precision.
